BLEIZO, Connected Agridistrict

Why | To develop a comprehensive and integrated cluster around a coming station
What | Multi-analyse + vision + scenarios + visualisations
Where | Zoetermeer, the Netherlands
With | ABL2
Who | For cities Bleiswijk en Zoetermeer

Bleizo is meant to be planned as an area where mobility facilities and real estate develop in the same time and in function of each other. It is a new way to do.

Bleizo area is in between two cities: Zoetermeer, a modern city known for its IT companies and Bleiswijk, a small city welcoming lots of greenhouses and businesses related. The goal was to find a concept that would match on the one hand with all the expectations of the stakeholders and on the other hand the physical site and the market.

AVIOLANDA, Aeronautic Cluster

Why | To convert a part of a military zone by creating a thematic cluster
What | Multi-analyse + process development + vision + scenarios + masterplan + visualisations
Where | Woensdrecht, the Netherlands
With | ABL2 + TCN Property Projects

In the Region West-Brabant, an idea was born: Making West-Brabant the most competitive region of Europe specialized in maintenance “The Maintenance Valley” and create at the same time sustainable jobs and businesses. Local actors  already have the network, The World Class Maintenance but no physical project is out of the ground yet. In 2008 it has  been decided to launch a competition for the very first project that will be the motor of the Maintenance Valley: The Aviolanda Aviation Park, an old industrial and military park with a little airport.

Together with TCN Property Projects, we analyzed integrally the area, the stakeholders and the market. We build a common vision and decided about the strategies (marketing, management, spatial qualities). We chose a program together and made the ideas spatially concrete. We found solutions about how to mix private and military activities, and how to mix people, trucks and planes traffic while enhancing the experience of the place.

KERAMIEK & CULTUUR, Revisited Brownfield

Why | To reconvert an industrial area at the technical university
What | Multi-analyse + vision + concept + masterplan + implementation plan
Where | Delft, the Netherlands
With | ABL2 + TCN
Who | For Woonbron + Kristal + city of Delft

After Blauw, we dealt with a second hotspot at the Schieovers: the Nieuwe Haven (New Port). A place where is an old beautiful ceramic factory and a well know museum about Blue Delft: het Porceleyne Fles. It is also very close to the university. Again, a 4D-analyse is realized. I made a map with the buildings of different architectural value.

The theme is chosen: Keramiek en Cultuur (Ceramic and Culture). The place will be dedicated to both tourists and students. It will be a creative place where cultures mix together where the University and the historical city center finally meet.

I designed a phasing scheme and a program. The district will develop gradually and in function of the availabilities of the plots to become a vibrant waterfront in Delft.
